Pound Ridge Pride Day
Sunday,
June 5, 2011, The Pound Ridge Partnership and the local businesses held a
block party for the town. Their very first "Pound Ridge Pride" day was a lot of fun. At noon,
volunteers fanned out and started beatifying our downtown. Weeds were
pulled, flowers were planted, sidewalks were spruced up. Thank you so
much to all the volunteers who worked so hard. Once the clean up was done
the party started. There was a BBQ courtesy of the Scott's Corner Market,
music by The Suburbans, a bouncy house for the kids, a pie-eating contest and
hula hoop contest, and more! The 2nd Grade class of Pound Ridge
Elementary School made a paper diorama of the whole downtown. We loved it
and hope they will loan it to us to display in our front window.
We at Avalon Agency Insurance gave out almost 200 bags of free popcorn. We couldn't make it fast enough! Everybody loves popcorn and it was great to be welcomed to town by so many of our neighbors. Can't wait to do it again next year!
